What is REvive?

NexGen Pathways (formerly Yalagan Group Training) is proud to partner with Corrective Services NSW to break the cycle of recidivism and provide rehabilitated offenders, particularly Indigenous individuals, with sustainable, long-term employment opportunities.

Our program focuses on addressing the deep-rooted challenges of inter-generational incarceration, unemployment, and the often-overlooked literacy and numeracy barriers that many participants face.

In 2023, after years of dedicated research, planning, and process development, we successfully launched our first pilot program. This initiative brought together our inaugural cohort of candidates from Bolwara Transitional Centre and Dilwynia Correction Centre, who were placed with our host employers, Djurwa and Bingo. The results have been overwhelming. Our candidates have achieved outstanding outcomes, with many successfully transitioning into stable employment.

NexGen Pathways takes great care in selecting candidates for traineeship roles, ensuring they are fully prepared before being placed with host employers. We manage every aspect of the employment process admin, training contracts, workers’ compensation, wages, and entitlements so that our host employers can focus on providing a safe and supportive environment where candidates can develop their skills and rebuild their lives. Throughout the traineeship, NexGen provides tailored pastoral care and mentoring to both the employers and the candidates to guarantee the program’s success.

We are now looking to expand this program and invite more employers and clients to partner with NexGen Pathways. Together, we can offer more individuals a second chance to transform their lives while helping your organisation tap into a motivated, diverse talent pool.
